What is the Green Dragon Society?
The Green Dragon Society is a very old Organization teaching Martial Arts
and associated systems of Meditational, Yogic and Taoist Sciences

Brief Historical Perspective
Across the span of many centuries the historical appearances of the Green Dragon Society, around the world, have been punctuated events, often but not always reflecting turbulent times or eras of great social change or progress. When the secret Green Society appears publicly, it is always by reason and design, with purpose.

In the founding days of the Green Dragon Society, circa 1960's Chicago, in order to establish a foundational membership for the purpose of propagating the Art in a new land (the dream of Shen-Fu Wong Lee), the Society therefore broke with centuries of traditional secrecy, and established a chain of semi-open, publicly visible, Temple Halls of the Dragon.

After the organization had achieved sufficient numbers of well trained, higher ranking members within the Green Dragon Society, a task of decades, the Green Dragon then reverted back to it's ancient status, enveloped in privacy and meditative contemplation.

It is important to understand that the Green Dragon Society did not arise out of the traditional Chinese experience of public martial arts schools in plain view (often depicted in the 'kung-fu' movies), but instead arose out of a much older and far less understood historical pathway of the "Secret Societies", which were complete Pai before ever the Arts were released to the Chinese people to be taught in "Kwoons".

The Green Dragon Society has always been, and is now still, a seclusion oriented organization.
Never-the-less, as a public service, we have currently decided to take on a more visible exposure, because unscrupulous impostors have defrauded the general public through identity theft for decades, while falsely claiming our name and thereby maligning it. The evil art of imitation, deceit and concurrent crime is alive like an insidious cancer in the arena of the Chicago martial arts community.

 For previous decades, and until quite recently, if you wanted to study with the official and original Green Dragon Society you had to know a member to even get the opportunity for an interview with a ranking designated Official.

Today, in contrast, you can now click the button below and fill out an application of petition for student enrollment (Though an interview is required and not everyone is accepted).

Questions Concerning:  fees, schedules, locations, and courses of study available are discussed at your personal interview with the Green Dragon Society Officer. Your particular goals and needs will be evaluated and recommendations suggested.
